Nick Shepard

Born with a framing hammer in his hand, Nick has worked in construction in various capacities for more than 20 years. He started his career as a laborer on home build sites and eventually worked his way up to a position as the right hand of one of Kansas City’s most premier custom home builders. As the economy cooled in the building industry, he took on a position as Vice President of Operations of a $25 million per year logistics company, but construction never left him. Nick opened his remodeling company, KC Home Solutions, in 2012, and it has gone on to become one of Johnson County’s foremost remodeling experts. In 2017, Nick started Shepard Homes with the hopes that we can be a resource for any home needs. Since then, Nick has built Shepard Homes into a quickly growing company that is known for its attention to detail with full custom home builds of all budget ranges.

Everyone deserves to have a home that they love, and Nick absolutely loves getting to see families enjoy these homes we build and create memories in them for years to come.

Kayla Olsen

While Kayla may be one of our youngest team members, it doesn’t stop her from being our mama bear. Knower of all things and keeper of the post-its, Kayla is our go-to cheerful face. Her sweet nature, attention to detail and can-do attitude keeps everyone energized and ready to tackle the day.

Jordan Staggs

The Man, The Myth, The Legend. Jordan oversees every aspect of each home build. Jordan’s ability to problem solve and turn dreams into a reality is the perfect combination for building homes that truly fit each client. To him, nothing feels more special than building a home that families are going love, make memories in, and be a home that their kids are going to remember for the rest of their lives.

Justin Olsen

Justin can be described as a true workhorse! From working alongside the production team to ensure all trades have what they need while finishing a home build to managing warranties after a home is finished, Justin is constantly yearning for ways to learn more. He absolutely loves seeing clients love their new home and showcase themselves with different design choices that fit them best.

Sarah Cooper

Sarah spent her youth helping build churches, homes, and schools in Central America.  She has traversed much of Europe and also lived in Belgium, Wyoming and Washington. Luckily, life brought Sarah back to the Kansas City area and she uses her passion for building, space planning and organizing to create incredible, custom designs to fit any family’s needs. Her global influences bring personality and efficiency into each design.

Kassie Fuqua

Kassie’s passion for design goes back as far as she can remember. As a KC local, Kassie knows all of the spots to find unique, incredible finds for each project. Her incredible attention to detail and thoughtful approach are unbeatable. Kassie loves to see each of these projects come to life and become something that each client truly cherishes.

Justine is more than just a friendly face that welcomes you into our office, her creative strategies and deep understanding of our processes is truly what keeps each home build running. She’s the right-hand to each of our team members and the glue between our new builds and remodels. She’s truly magic.
