Custom Home Building Process

Establishing financing for a custom build home is quite a bit different than getting the approval to purchase a spec home. A custom home requires a construction loan, which aren’t always available at every bank or financial institute.

You may already have property to build on, and if so, that’s great! If not, there are handful of items that we would recommend you keep in mind. Do you have a neighborhood, school district, or commute that you’re looking to stick within? You’ll also want to make sure that the lot size is big enough to accommodate the house and yard that you’re wanting, but also are there size or exterior finishes that are required for that area? Also what are the access to utilities like?

With solidifying property, it’s time to start thinking about what you want in your home. You may have a rough idea as to what size house you’re looking for, but it’s also really important to dig into what your must-haves, wants, and family needs are. There are so many things to consider that it may seem overwhelming at times. Our process is designed to help understand exactly what you need, and to present you with options to fill those needs, whether you know exactly what you want, or you have no idea. It’s always great to start creating idea boards and note things that are important to you. Our designers will guide you through the entire process step by step, so you don’t get overwhelmed.
